 Firenze straordinariaQuesto libro si propone di svelare gli aspetti noti della città, a volte poco conosciuti anche da chi ama profondamente il luogo in cui vive e lavora. Giornalisti ed esperti dei vari settori si sono prodigati per individuare tutte quelle realtà che si distinguono per originalità o per innovazione, o per aver saputo mantenere vive e vitali le grandi tradizioni locali, particolarmente importanti nel caso di Firenze. Le realtà selezionate, negozi, gallerie, ristoranti, librerie, servizi, nuove iniziative culturali, sono state denominate, per qualità e personalità, gli Straordinari. Per ognuna di esse si raccontano le vicende professionali e personali dei protagonisti, sempre inter nti e spesso avventurose.  Firenze straordinariaThis book aims to disclose the less renown aspects of the city, sometimes hidden even to those who deeply love the piace they live and work in. Journalists and experts of different sectors worked to identify all those aspects that stand out for originality or innovation, or for having kept locai traditions, particularly important for Florence, vital and alive. The various selected elements, shops, galleries, restaurants, bookshops, services, new cultural initiatives, were defined, for quality and personality, the Straordinari (the Extraordinary). For each category the professional and personal experiences of the characters are toid, always interesting and often advènturous. [..] City center/di qua d'Arno The city center of Florence is traditionally divided into 4 areas, which take their name after the most important church. Three out of four on the right bank of the river Arno, -called "di qua d'Arno" and they are: Santa Maria Novella, San Giovanni and Santa Croce. The latter is the heart of the old city with its famous buildings such as Palazzo Vecchio, where the offices of the town hall are located, (in the past it was the residence of the Medici family), the Uffizi Gallery, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Baptistery of San Giovanni and the Church of Santa Maria Novella.
