 Piemonte in Scena: un volume che raccoglie le immagini fotografiche di un artista e i testi di intellettuali che attraverso i loro racconti,
le 1040 riflessioni, le memorie e le emozioni presentano una terra
solo in parte conosciuta e svelano un Piemonte inedito, imprevisto,
osservato da angolazioni diverse capaci di modificare la percezione di questa terra composita.Il volume è parte integrante di un più ampio progetto di valorizzazione e promozione del Piemonte, avviato dagli Assessorati alla Cultura e al Turismo della Regione Piemonte, che intende - anche con l'ausilio del portale di promozione turistica e culturale www.piemontei talia.eu - presentare gli uomini e le donne di questa parte d'Italia, eccellenze dell'arte e dell'architettura, le straordinarie bellezze paesaggi, con mostre fotografiche, pubblicazioni e filmati. Emerge, dalle foto e dai testi, un Piemonte che si configura come una sorta di Wunderkammer in cui natura e costruzione sono costantemente intrecciate, dove le stesse Alpi sono in fondo un'invenzione geologica e architettonica ottocentesca (Antonio De Rossi), un Piemonte che da terra di transito si trasforma, con i Savoia, in territorio compatto e in riferimento politico fino a diventare elemento unificatore dell'Unità d'Italia (Gianni Oliva). Realtà che, sempre con i Savoia, si propone al mondo delle grandi dinastie europee con uno strumento di promozione come il Theatrum Sabaudiae, che racconta gli Stati del Duca di Savoia a partire dalla città-capitale, connotata dalla magnificenza dell'architettura sovrana inscindibile dalla dimensione di una progettualità in progress, e che si dilata fuori mura attraverso il disegno strutturante delle residenze suburbane del Sovrano e della sua corte (Costanza Roggero). Scopriamo, grazie al testo di Enzo Bianchi, un Piemonte in cui la spiritualità ha segnato fortemente il territorio con luoghi e monumenti simbolici, dalla Sacra di San Michele all'Abbazia della Novalesa, dai Sacri Monti alla Basilica di Superga, al Santuario della Consolata. Terra che ha saputo far fronte ai profondi cambiamenti sociali dell'Ottocento anche grazie alla straordinaria capacità delle grandi fgure dei Santi sociali, che operarono in quei tempi travagliati: san C.:ovanni Bosco, san Giuseppe Cafasso, san Giuseppe Cottolengo. E - questo - un Piemonte che ancora una volta, nel Novecento, cimenta protagonista del riscatto della nazione italiana, con le sue bande di partigiani che nelle città, sulle colline e sulle montagne combattono per liberare il Paese (come ci racconta senza retorica Giorgio Bocca); un Piemonte abitato da montanari che sotto l'ombra del Monviso si inventano i mestieri più strani, mercanti di capelli, acciugai, costruttori e suonatori di ghironde (Paolo Rumiz), e che in tempi più recenti grazie alle iniziative di Slow Food e di Terra Madre diventa il centro mondiale di una nuova gastronomia, interdisciplinare, che ha a che fare con agricoltura, ecologia, saperi tradizionali, teorie della complessità, approcci sistemici, dialogo tra nuove e antiche conoscenze (Carlo Petrini). Un Piemonte, infine, che è anche luogo d'arte e di creatività, la cui storia viene ripercorsa attraverso la vita di uno dei maggiori artisti contemporanei (Michelangelo Pistoletto). Questo viaggio si svela nel volume non solo attraverso gli scritti, ma grazie allo sguardo di Pino Dell'Aquila: nelle sue mani la macchina fotografica più che strumento per registrare passivamente un paesaggio, un monumento, è un vero e proprio occhio "per vedere, per annotare rapporti, cogliere sintesi, catturare momenti unici (sempre troppo temporanei), svelare qualità e magari suggerire soluzioni di intervento". |
 Piemonte in Scena is a volume that brings together the photographs of an artist and the texts of a number of intellectuals. Through their tales, reflections, memories and emotions the book presents a land that is only partially known, and reveals a new, unexpected Piedmont, observed from various angles capable of modifying the perception of this composite region.This publication is part of a larger project of promoting Piedmont, initiated by the Councillors for Culture and for Tourism of the Regione Piemonte, which aims to present - with the help of the tourist and cultura) portai www.piemonteitalia.eu. - the men and women of this part of Italy, the masterpieces in art and architetture, and the extraordinary beauty of the landscapes, through photographic exhibitions, publications and films. A Piedmont emerges from these texts and photographs in the guise of a Wunderkammer in which nature and building are constantly intertwined, where the Alps are both a geological and a nineteenthcentury architectural invention (Antonio De Rossi); a Piedmont that is transformed - with the Savoys - from a land of transit into a compact state and political reference, becoming the unifying element of the Unification of Italy (Gianni Oliva). A fact that was displayed - always by the Savoys- to the world of the great European dynasties through such promotional implements as the Theatrum Sabaudiae, which describes the States of the Duke of Savoy beginning with its city-capital, characterized by the splendour of its majestic architecture inseparable from long-term town-planning and that extends outside the city walls through the structuring design of the suburban residences of the king and his court (Costanza Roggero). Thanks to Enzo Bianchi's essay we discover a Piedmont in which spirituality has strongly marked the region with places and symbolic monuments, from the Sacra di San Michele to the Abbey of Novalesa, from the Sacred Mounts to the Basilica of Superga, and to the Sanctuary of the Consolata. This land successfully faced the profound social transformations of the nineteenth century also thanks to the extraordinary skills of the great figures of the social saints who worked in those troubled times: Saint John Bosco, Saint Joseph Cafasso, and Saint Joseph Cottolengo. And this Piedmont - once again - in the twentieth century becomes the leader for the liberation of the Italian nation, with its bands of partisans who battled in cities and towns, in the hills and on the mountains to free the country (as Giorgio Bocca tells us without any rhetoric); a Piedmont inhabited by mountain people who invent the strangest of jobs in the lee of the Monviso - traders in hair, salterers of anchovies, constructors and players of hurdygurdies (Paolo Rumiz). In more recent times, thanks to initiatives such as Slow Food and Terra Madre, it has become the international centre of a new interdisciplinary gastronomic way of being that involves agriculture, ecology, traditional skills, complexity theories, systemic approaches and dialogue between the old and the new (Carlo Petrini). A Piedmont, finally, that is also a piace of art and creativity, traced through the life of one of the greatest contemporary artists (Michelangelo Pistoletto). This voyage unfolds in the book not only through the essays, but also through Pino Dell'Aquila's images: in his hands the camera becomes a true eye, rather than just an instrument for passively recording a landscape, or a monument; an eye "for seeing, for nothing relationships, for grasping syntheses, for capturing unique moments (always too impermanent), for revealing qualities and perhaps suggesting solutions of what might be done". |
