 As a child he loved to invent things out of this world. The first concrete expression of his passion revealed itself by inventing a submarine when he was nine. After that he built furniture with a friend in his mother's garage which they then sold. At seventeen, during a visit to the furniture trade fair Salone del Mobile in Milan, Markus Benesch canne into contact with the world of design. Intrigued by the great Italian masters, the stucco worker started realizing his own ideas. Surprised by the possibilities offered by the computer, the autodidact wondered why the application of digital printing, capable of treating each surface of the products individually, had not conquered the furniture world yet. As at the time industrialized laminates for digital printing did not exist, Markus Benesch started to ingeniously experiment with color printing and resin. Spectacular multi-discipline projects and his own language regarding materials and shapes, made this wizard of colour and shape become famous very fast. According to his motto "The world needs greater optimism and courage when creating", he does not hesitate to use strong colors and wild designs. The refined fantasies of wallpapers, floors and laminates turn upside down spaces and perspectives and open new visual dimensions. Through the use of charming surface effects, innovative materials and decorations that do not respect any scale, Markus Benesch treats space in all its surfaces. He links it to objects and modifies all its proportions optically. His aim is to influence space and objects, and therefore our perception of them both, through graphics and decorations. Space and objects remain the protagonista. Decoration becomes the skin and it is not simply applied to rnake the object more "beautiful". The installations of Markus Benesch can be placed between art, design and fashion. He does not limit himself to the design of an object but aspires to invent a complex world with all its components. We therefore anxiously await the results of the present excavations of Fantabulosa. Further interesting findings will certainly come to light! Da bambino amava inventare cose, ovvero mondi. La prima espressione concreta della sua passione si manifestava a nove anni nello sviluppo di un sommergibile. Dopodiché costruiva nel garage di sua madre insieme ad un amico dei mobili che poi vendevano. All' età di diciassette anni, in occasione di una visita al Salone del Mobile di Milano, Markus Benesch veniva a contatto col mondo del design. Affascinato dai grandi maestri italiani, lo stuccatore iniziava a realizzare le proprie idee. Sorpreso dalle possibilità del computer, l'autodidatta si chiedeva il motivo per cui l'applicazione della stampa digitale, capace di trattare in modo individuale le superfici dei prodotti, non aveva ancora conquistato il mondo dei mobili. Poiché all'epoca non esistevano dei laminati di stampa digitale industrializzati, Markus Benesch cominciava in modo ingegnoso a sperimentare con stampe a colori e resina. Spettacolari progetti multidisciplinari ed il suo personale linguaggio di materiali e forme, facevano presto conoscere questo giocoliere di colori e forme. Secondo il suo motto: "Il mondo ha bisogno di maggiore ottimismo e coraggio nel creare", non esita a servirsi di colori forti e disegni selvaggi. Le fantasie raffinate delle carte da parati, dei pavimenti e dei laminati capovolgono spazi e prospettive ed aprono nuove dimensioni visuali. Attraverso l'uso di avvincenti effetti di superficie, materiali innovativi e decori fuori scala, Markus Benesch tratta lo spazio in tutte le sue superfici. Lo connette con gli oggetti e modifica otticamente le sue proporzioni. Lo scopo è influenzare con misure grafiche o decorative spazi ed oggetti e quindi la nostra percezione degli stessi. Lo spazio e l'oggetto rimangono i protagonisti. La decorazione invece diventa la pelle e non viene semplicemente applicata per rendere più "bello" l'oggetto. Le installazioni di Markus Benesch si collocano tra l'arte, il design e la moda. Non si limita a progettare un oggetto ma piuttosto ambisce ad inventare un mondo complesso con tutti i suoi componenti. Attendiamo quindi con ansia i nuovi risultati degli scavi in corsa di Fantabulosa. Sicuramente verranno alla luce ulteriori reperti interessanti! |
