Un gioco intelligente ALESSANDRA BORGHESE Tutto è iniziato come un gioco. Un gioco intelligente. Gloria disegnava in maniera veloce, istintiva e decisa, poi inviava i ritratti agli amici chiedendo loro «chi è?». Noi dovevamo indovinare il protagonista del suo disegno. Ammetto di essere rimasta colpita subito dai suoi ritraili colorati. Così freschi, simpatici, divertenti, innocenti e scanzonati. Per questo l'ho spinta a farne di più per poi arrivare a realizzare un libro e una mostra. Ho visto del talento nel suo lavoro, e ho pensato che molte altre persone avrebbero potuto apprezzarne anche l'ironia. La scelta di 60 personaggi del mondo vaticano non ha un filo logico, è dettata dalla libertà più assoluta, e dal profondo desiderio di cercare, qualora ce ne fosse bisogno, di rendere i protagonisti più umani e vicini alla gente. Una sorta di "operazione simpatia" per vedere il Vaticano in modo diverso e divertente. Buongiorno Monsignore è quindi una documentazione illustrata di un momento storico particolare a cui guardare da vicino con interesse e leggerezza. Un po' come fece Pierleone Chezzi nel lontano Settecento con i suoi disegni caricatura della società e della Chiesa del tempo. L'importante è non prendersi troppo sul serio, pur essendo persone serie! An intelligent game It all began as a game. An intelligent game. Gloria was drawing in a manner that was quick, incisive and bold, and then she sent each portrait to friends asking: "Who is it? We had to identify the subjects in the drawings. I admit that I was immediately struck by these colorful portraits, each one so fresh, "simpatico", amusing and innocent. For this reason I pushed her to do more, aiming towards a book and an exhibition. I saw the talent in her work and I thought that many other people would allo appreciate the jeu d'esprit. There is no particular logic behind, the choice of these sixty characters from the world of the Vatican, just an absolute freedom and the profound desire to highlight the humanity of the subjects and to bring it, closer to the viewer. See it as a sort of charm offensive, to show the Vatican in a new light that is different and funny. Good morning, Monsignor is then an illustrated documentation of a particular historical moment, captured with affection and lightness. A little like Pierleone Ghezzi, back in the eighteenth centuty, with his visual vignettes of the society and Church of his time. One important thing is not to take oneself too seriously; thus being a serious person! |
